Upgrade
Upgrading to the latest version of NivoCart is very easy.It is almost the same procedure as performing a clean installation.
- 1 - Download the latest version of NivoCart.
You can find the latest version at Github or Nivocart.org.
- 2 - Upload the NivoCart required files on your server (can be local or live).
For this step, you have 2 options:
The first option is to upload the full zip package directly on the server and extract it there.
The second option is to extract the zip package locally and upload the required files one by one.
In both cases, we only need the files contained inside the "upload" folder, as shown below.
- 3 - Place the files above at the root of your domain.
Select "Yes" to overwrite the old files with the new ones from the package.
- 4 - The 2 "config-dist.php" files (root and admin/) can be safely ignored, or you can also delete them.
However, make sure the old "config.php" are present and kept untouched!
- 5 - Run the installer by entering "<your domain name>/install/index.php" in your browser.
- 6 - Since you already had a previous version installed, the Upgrade page comes up.
Simply click "Upgrade".
Note 1: The upgrade script works for every NivoCart version starting with 2.x.x.
Note 2: the database already exists, the upgrade script will only refresh the tables and add any new ones if needed. the existing data will not be modified.
