We are a small team of developers, testers and users worldwide commited to produce the most user-friendly, self-contained opensource shopping cart solution available today.Initially inspired by OpenCart™ Shopping Cart, NivoCart has become a completely independent software over the last few years.

We understand that users are not developers and that they want to spend their time doing business, not writing code. At the same time, users also want to make their website stand-out from the competition, so inevitably they will have to get into the files at some point in order to customize a few things. There are, of course, ready made extensions in the Marketplace for that, but that might not be enough for some. Hiring developers to add specific functionalities can be an option, but can also be expensive, and business owners will always prefer the do-it-yourself option if they can. We know that.
So, for this reason, we decided to keep things very simple by only using standard code throughout: Html5, CSS3, jQuery and javascript. No framework (Bootstrap) and No template engine (Twig). Please note that we are not against Bootstrap or Twig, we actually encourage template developers to use them, but we believe that the core code should remain pure and simple.
We will always put small and medium business owners first.
